A rare opportunity to acquire an original set of two Pierre Jeanneret X-Leg Lounge Chairs, sourced from the same administrative building in Chandigarh, India.

Also known as the Cross Easy Chair, this distinctive design exemplifies the restrained modernism of the Chandigarh project. Crafted in solid teak with handwoven cane, the chairs are distinguished by their sculptural X-shaped leg construction, which extends into angular armrests and is connected by a central stretcher. The resulting silhouette is both architectural and understated, reflecting Jeanneret’s considered approach to functional furniture.

The chairs have been re-caned and lightly restored, preserving their rich teak patina, natural variations in the wood and the traces of use that attest to their institutional history. Their original provenance markings, PAU/CH/LAB/33/II and PAU/CH/LAB/92/II, remain visible, adding to the historical significance of this rare matching pair.
