Description
Rare Pierre Jeanneret and Le Corbusier Advocate and Press Chair from Chandigarh's High Court, c. 1955-56.
Crafted from solid teak, the chair features a slightly tilted backrest, seat, and armrests, all in its original foam, which can be fully reupholstered by us or sold 'as is'.
The chair's unique "bridge" style side leg assembly, fashioned from teak, boasts slanting, profiled flat legs that support separate armrests with plush "roll" type stuffed covers. A front and back rail provide additional support to the seat from below, ensuring both comfort and durability.
We have two chairs available, they can be sold as a set or separately. The listed price is per chair.
This piece's provenance can be traced back to the High Court in Chandigarh, lending it historical significance. For reference, a similar example is currently on display at the City Museum in Chandigarh.
