Pioneering Swedish designer Axel Einar Hjorth left an indelible mark on the country's decorative arts movement in the 1920s and 30s. His Lovö chairs, created during his time as chief architect for Nordiska Kompaniet, embody the raw, minimalist aesthetic that defined his influential modern style.
Crafted from solid, stained Swedish pine, these chairs exude a rustic, handcrafted quality that celebrates the inherent beauty of the natural material. The structural elements, including the blackened iron rivets, are proudly showcased, lending an honest, utilitarian appeal.
