6-hole File Rack PJ-R-27-A

Description

An authentic file rack designed by Pierre Jeanneret for the administrative offices of Chandigarh, circa 1957–1958.

Built in solid teak, the piece features six open compartments arranged across a double-sided frame — four centrally positioned, two elevated at either side. The legs are formed by the continuation of the side panels, a straightforward construction detail that gives the piece its quiet structural logic. Accessible from both sides, it was conceived to divide open-plan spaces while remaining fully functional throughout.

The teak has developed a warm patina consistent with decades of institutional use.
